TFF: Anticipated book releases 2016

Hi there,
Welcome to another Friday. Today, because my idea bank was completely empty, I’ve decided to countdown my Top Five anticipated book releases of 2016. I hope you enjoy, even though you probably won’t because this will be the most boring Top Five Friday to date. Oh well, let’s just jump right in.

1) On the Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher
This is the first fictional book written by Carrie Hope Fletcher, one of the two absolute favourite YouTubers I have. The story centres around Evie Snow, a woman of 82 who dies peacefully in her sleep. When Evie arrives at the door to her personal heaven she finds that she has become her 27 year old self again and that the door won’t open. Her soul must be light enough to pass through and she must unburden herself of 3 secrets before it’s too late. She learns more about life than she thought she could and she must also find her way back to her lost love.
I am so excited for this story. It sounds absolutely amazing in every single way possible. It sounds romantic, exciting, intriguing and like such a fun contemporary read. Super excited to pick this one up with it hits shelves July 14th.

2) The Hidden Oracle (Trials of Apollo 1) by Rick Riordan
Okay to be real, I’m only excited for this because of the 7. I mean, isn’t it why we’re all excited really? This is another Greek mythology book from the amazing Mr Riordan but this time about Gods more than Demigods. When Apollo angers his father, Zeus, he is cast down from Olympus and made to be human. Apollo must find a way back to Olympus to win his fathers favour, but he has many enemies and can think of only one place to go: Camp Half Blood.
I am seriously sweating from excitement. This is going to be the greatest book in the history of the world probably ever! During the month it comes out anyway. I’m super excited for the sevens reunion and to see Nico and Reyna and everyone at Camp Half-Blood again. It’s going to be amazing.

3) The Last Star by Rick Yancy
This is the third and final book in the Fifth Wave trilogy (cries). I can’t really give a detailed synopsis because it’ll give too much away but I will tell you that this is an epic story of an alien invasion. Trust me, it’s awesome. I have no idea how this book will conclude, theories keep running around my mind but I can’t point to anything definitive. The puzzle pieces kept falling in the last book and I’m just waiting for it to be completed. Also waiting for Cassie and Evan to not be annoying but we can’t always get what we wish for can we.

4) Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
I don’t think there is anyone that isn’t excited for the release of this book. Not only do we get another awesome story in the world of the Shadowhunters but we also get to continue seeing the characters from the Mortal Instruments as well as Jem and Tessa. It’s been 5 years since the events of City of Heavenly Fire and Emma Blackthorn is no longer a child, but one of the best Shadowhunters alive determined to discover what murdered her parents. Making things more complicated the faeries are so desperate for their help to discover who is killing their kind that they return her Parabatai’s long lost brother, Mark. But Mark has been changed by the faerie world, will he ever return to normal?
I am so excited I might be having a heart attack. This is no joke. I might pass out from uncontrollable excitement.

5) Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K.Rowling (and two others whose names I don’t remember)
Do I really have to explain this one?

Alright so that is it for this week’s Top Five Friday’s post. I hope you enjoyed and feel free to comment your most anticipated releases below.

Favourite Book Couples

Hi there,
So today dawns another Valentines Day, the day of love. And what better love to share than the love you have of books and the fictional characters that inhabit them. To celebrate that love we all have I’m sharing with you my all time Favourite Book Couples. I saw this idea first done over on Katytastic‘s YouTube channel (she’s one of my favourite YouTubers, you should all check out her channel) and I’ve been wanting to do it myself for some time now. I have actually done a shorter version of this for my Top Five Friday’s series, but now you get the full version. So without further ado let’s jump into the incredibly cute pool of couples.

Anna and the French Kiss trilogy by Rainbow Rowell- all the couples

Okay so I’m already kind of cheating but oh well. I love every one of the main couples in the Anna trilogy. Anna/Etienne probably rank number 1 but Josh/Isla are such a close second. There is basically a cell-sized gap between them. Seriously, it’s close. Cricket/Lola are my least favourite, only because there relationship didn’t have as much of a build up to me. All of these couples are amazing and special and will always be the reason I have such high expectations as to what my relationships must be like. So to all my future suitors: I blame Rainbow Rowell.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer – all the couples (that I know of)
Again with this series I love every main pairing. For the books I’ve read at least. I’ve yet to read Winter, but when I get to it I’m sure I’ll love whatever pairing happens. But for the three I have read, I loved them. Wolf/Scarlet and Cress/Thorne are my two favourite pairings with Cinder/Kai a little behind because of all the drama surrounding their relationship. The pairings are adorable and each couple is so well suited to each other. The way the novels are written makes the connection to their relationship that much more personal. The intimacy each couple has is just amazing. I really hope none of them die.

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare – Sizzy
Now this one was tough. It was between Sizzy and Malec, but ultimately I felt Sizzy had a stronger connection and a lighter, more relatable romantic story. There relationship was cute, while funner at the same time. They seemed to be complete opposites but fit so well together. And then City of Heavenly Fire happened and my heart was ripped into a thousand tiny pieces. Oh well, at least we’ve got more books on the way.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – Karou/Akiva
This, as literally everyone knows, is one of my favourite trilogies of all time. Part of what makes it so is the characters and the relationships that have with each other. Karou and Akiva had probably the most complicated relationship I have ever read about. There was murder and past-lovers and war, but despite facing literally every problem a couple could have, they ended up together. And man it was emotional, and beautiful and everything you could want in a couple finally being together.

Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan – Percabeth
I’m only referencing the Heroes of Olympus series here because that is when I fell head-over-heels in love with Percabeth. Their relationship is so beautiful and so special and I love reading scenes with them together. They completely steal the show as far as couples go. They care about each other so strongly and they had such an amazing build up with their relationship. We all thought Rachel Elizabeth Dare was a threat for a little while, but that soon vanished from all our minds at the strength of the relationship of Percy and Annabeth.

Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas – Chaolaena
Now, for some reason this pairing isn’t very popular. This genuinely confuses me because they are an amazing couple! I don’t understand and I never will understand peoples’ infatuation with Dorian/Celaena. They just don’t go together! They had a slight thing for a little while but that was it. Now I don’t know what happens in Queen of Shadows but I highly doubt my opinion on this subject matter will change. Celaena and Chaol understand each other in such a unique way. They have to be endgame or I might die. Literally.

Outlander by Dianna Gabaldon – Jamie/Claire
Did anyone really think this wouldn’t make the list? Jamie, while the love of my life and definite future husband, is really amazing in his relationship with Claire. They have such a special connection to one another, and the moments of romance in the novels leave nothing to be desired. They have their challenges like any other couple, which I think makes them that much more relatable as a couple. I absolutely love this pairing and I will defend it to the grave.

Alright so that is it for my Valentines themed, favourite fictional couples tag. Feel free to comment down below your favourite couples but please, please, please don’t spoil anything (particularly from the books I specifically said I haven’t read yet in the series’ mentioned). I hope you enjoyed and I’ll see you all soon.

30 Disney Questions

Hi there,
I know, I know, it’s been forever. You’ve heard the excuse a thousand times now but I promise you, I was seriously busy so let’s all Let it Go. Anyway, today I bring you the shining, shimmering, splendid world of Walt Disney. You are welcome. I saw this tag on sherlockianbooklovers blog, you should all go check out that post it’s like a Whole New World. Anyway, without further ado, lets Go the Distance and get started.

1) Favourite character:
Well this sure started off with an easy question . . . I think though I will have to go with the adorable Stitch. I mean he’s cute and fluffy and funny. The whole package really as far as Disney characters are concerned.

2) Favourite Princess:
I’d have to go with Belle from Beauty and the Beast for this one. She has been my favourite Princess since forever. I had a brief fling with Ariel but in the end Belle was the one who truly held my heart.

3) Favourite Heroine:
I’m taking this to mean female character who isn’t a Princess, and in that case I would have to say Mulan. She’s swift as a coursing river, with all the force of a great typhoon. She’s got the strength of a raging fire and is as mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

4) Favourite Prince:
I’d have to say lovely Prince Eric, with his brilliant eyes and his hair and his kindness. He also loves dogs.

5) Favourite Hero:
For sure this is Flynn Rider, AKA Eugene Fitzherbert. Super funny, super caring and super handsome.

6) Favourite animal:
Koda, the amazingly snuggable bear cub from Brother Bear, the movie that ripped all the tears from my eyes.

7) Favourite sidekick:
The great and powerful . . . MUSHU. He is hilarious as a sidekick and basically totally useless but it works.

8) Favourite villain:
Scar from the Lion King. He’s dark and dangerous but funny and sophisticated about it at the same time.

9) Favourite original character:
It’s Goofy for sure. He was my favourite original character from the very beginning. I actually have no idea why though.

10) Favourite love song:
At Last I see the Light from Tangled. It’s such a beautiful song and ties in perfectly with the theme of the film.

11) Favourite song:
I literally have a million of them but for the purpose of this question I’ll pick the one that’s stuck in my head right now. Go the Distance from Hercules, an awesome song that will help you at every point in your life.

12) Favourite villain song:
Poor Unfortunate Souls from the Little Mermaid, sung by the marvelous villain that is Ursula. Her song is so catchy!

13) Least favourite song:
I really don’t know. Probably If I See an Elephant Fly from Dumbo. Not too sure though.

14) Favourite kiss:
I really, really do not know. There are so many amazing Disney kisses that I can’t choose just one.

15) The first movie you saw:
I have absolutely no idea at all

16) Favourite classic:
Probably Snow White, there’s something about it I just really like.

17) Song that always gets stuck in your head:
I’ll Make a Man out of You. I mean does it not get stuck in anyone’s head?

18) Favourite Pixar film:
Either Toy Story or Monsters Inc, both are equally amazing.

19) Least favourite Pixar film:
Either Wall-E or Brave. Wall-E was boring and I never made it to the end of Brave.

20) Favourite Sequel:
Probably the sequel to Cinderella. I have no idea why because it’s pretty pointless and the animation is no where near as good, I just love it for some reason.

21) Overrated movie:
I don’t think there was one, each film that’s been super hyped up was because it was amazing enough to be super hyped up.

22) Underrated movie:
The Rescuers! I used to watch this all the time at my grandparents house. Good times, good times.

23) Movie that makes you laugh:
Big Hero 6. It was a complete comedy fest and I loved every minute of it.

24) Movie that makes you cry:
Literally every single one. In particular though, Toy Story 3.

25) The saddest scene from your movie:
I have two scenes actually. The first when the toys hold hands in the furnace and the second when Andy says goodbye for the last time.

26) Saddest death:
Now I really don’t know. Probably right now it’s Tadashi from Big Hero 6

27) Favourite quote:
That’s a tough one. At the moment it’s probably “Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely” from the movie The Land Before Time.

28) Favourite theme park:
Magic Kingdom in Disney World, Florida. It’s amazing there.

29) Favourite theme attraction:
Space Mountain or Splash Mountain, both are equally fun. I also love Tower of Terror and Rockin’ Rollar Coaster but both are in MGM, not Magic Kingdom.

30) Favourite theme park show:
Probably the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM. We make a point to go see it every time we’re there.

Alrighty so that is it for the 30 Disney questions. Took me a while to get through but I knew I could do it because if you keep on believing the dream that you wish will come true. And boy id I wish upon a star. Thank you so much for reading, I hope to see you soon cause you got a friend in me.
